Krandasgar Red hails from the Black Sea area of the Ukraine and is commercially grown on thousands of acres all over that region.

In each bulb there are typically 4-6 large cloves like a porcelain but it has 40-50 bulbils like a purple stripe. Skins are not only thick and durable but striking, often with deep purple and pink bands, contrasting pure white.
